I turned this plate just to see if I could make one. I’m happy with the outcome and plan to make a set for my barbecues. It is finished with food safe butcher block oil.

Cool, maybe its the picture, but I could not tell this was Maple, still very nice though.

-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.

Neat look. Simple lines that are appealing to me. Looks hefty. What did your glue up look like prior to turning?

Ty. The glue up was a hexagon with a 1” wide lip to reduce waste. Stock was 3/4” X 5” maple board (from Lowes). I used a screw to mount the blank and plugged that hole with a small scrap of maple.
