Photo album cover that I made for my girlfriend last week. I was experimenting with different materials for inlay – the branches/vines are made out of lead solder! Not the cleanest job, but it was a fun little project with some board scraps I had lying around. I had a couple of people tell me that it would be a a neat idea to do something similar and put one of those electronic picture frames that changes pictures every few minutes in it – gift idea anyone?
Mahogany, Figured maple (Popped the grain with a little bit of dye), and solder and bubinga inlay. General finish arm-r-seal finish, rubbed out with mineral oil and 000 steel wool.
