This is a mantle for a friend of mine, fits above a corner fireplace. Top is 6/4 Red Oak with built up crown and cove. Fairly simple to build, hopefully it fits snug against the wall. Going to mount with a french cleat. Still needs a finish, so I will post when that is done. Thanks for looking, any comments or criticism appreciated.
Thanks Kevin

Looks nice. I enjoy building mantles and fireplace surrounds. You can let your imagination run wild with them.
Good job.

Thanks guys. Bruce, I agree, but I have a hard time deciding on what to do some times. Went through a lot of samples until I settled. Can;t wait to see it on the wall.

Great looking mantle, I need a new one as well and might borrow some of your design elements.
