Didn’t want to take up too much space, but here’s three other recent efforts. A drummer’s chess set, made up of a drummer’s drum set (sort of). Got the idea when i saw the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in action a couple weeks ago (superb show!). A Ninja Set, and a ‘club’ sized Staunton.

The drummer’s set and the ninja set are Ambrosia Maple and Walnut, kings about 6-7” tall…pawns about 3” tall. Club Staunton set is Walnut and Pear wood. Pear wood rocks as carving wood!!!!! It was used in chess sets in Europe in the 1700 and 1800s and i can never get enough of it.

Great carvings, like the last one with the presidents, this is more traditional. The drummers set was a great idea and they all came out very cool.

Very cool! Being a former drummer I am partial to this set over the others, but they look great.
