Here is an end-grain Walnut cutting board with maple highlights that I finished a few weeks ago. It was going to be a straight walnut board until I added some thing maple strips I had lying around and it came out nicely. The walnut grain also gives it a nice effect. Sanded to 220 and finished with a 50% thinned wiping varnish (salad bowl finish). This ones for our house so yes, it’s being used daily. I also routed some grooves into the sides to help pick it up off the counter.

It’s my third cutting board. Thanks for looking!

The book matched board gives this piece a lot more character than many other boards I have seen, nicely done.
