I built two of these tables to accompany the bed I made (previous post). They are cherry with roasted maple accents and curly maple drawers. All joinery was hand cut. The legs are mortice and tenon to the back and sides with dovetails joining the front cross pieces. Drawers are dovetailed at all four corners. Finish is tung oil.

Hi Jeanmarc, Carl and Guy

Thanks for the interest and comments.

Carl – roasted maple is heated until it turns dark brown uniformly through the planks. It takes a finish well and is softer than “raw” maple so it is best used for decorative parts rather than primary structure. Great to work with hand tools.
