This outdoor coffee table is made from Ipe or ironwood.
A client took me to his favorite restaurant and asked me to build the same table but for the outdoors.
I used Ironwood and a spar yacht varnish hopefully it will last

Looks great! Was it hard to keep your tools sharpened? Our local cement plant used ball bearings for their lime stone crusher made out of Iron wood because they lasted so long. With that knowledge as a guide you should be able to figure out that it will last longer than the man who commissioned you to build it. Cheers

That looks great, I’ve never worked with ironwood, from what I understand it’s pretty dense.

Very nice. Gonna have to steal the design when it comes time for me to make some outdoor furniture.

That is a beautiful table. The joinery is very unique and the finish flawless. I don’t know the dimensions but I know it is HEAVY! I just hope the sun doesn’t wreck that beautiful finish. Maybe he”ll put it under a pergola or some cover to protect it.
