I finished my cross cut sled yesterday and purchased my first batch of quality lumber and as one of my goals is to make a bible box for my mother inn law and aunt I decided to take some of my maple and make a box. This is the first of many I will be making over the next few months to try new techniques. next is miters and splines at least I think they are called that.

The sides are 1/4 ” the box is 2 1/2×2 1/2×3. All maple, the lid just has a piece of dowel in it, kinda tacky but it worked.

I like it, needs something…..Hmmm…..I GOT IT! Fill that puppy with M&M’s, then it will be complete. Seriously it looks good. What is the finish?
