I finally tried turning mushrooms tonight. These were made from a chunk of maple firewood, so with no finish applied, It’ll be interesting to see what what happens when they dry. Now to buy a jaw chuck, so I can apply finish on the lathe.

Nice, I would like to see them finished, please add the pic to this when it’s done and I’ll keep checking back.

Martyroc, I probably won’t finish these ones. Call it a test to see how they warp and crack as they dry out. I’ll get a jaw chuck maybe next week, then I’ll give it another try, and apply a wax finish, and post pictures of some finished ones.
Rustic, I can’t take credit for the idea. I’ve seen these posed here before, and just got around to trying it myself.
