Some of my recent turnings.

Three candle holders (L-to-R) Purpleheart, Ambrosia Maple, Oak.

Two Churchill Fountain Pens. (L) Spalted Beech; (R) Box Elder Burl.

Seven Churchill Roller Ball Pens (L-to-R) Spalted Ambrosia Maple; Hackberry; Buckeye Burl; Padauk; Spalted Curley Cherry; Buckeye Burl; Buckeye Burl.

Ambrosia Maple Cocktail Shaker.

Various Pens: (L-to-R) Churchill RB Box Elder Burl; Churchill RB Amboyna Burl; Triton Orange Flame Acrylic; CIgar Black Locust; Cigar Red Oak Burl; Cigar Tiger Oak.

Bottle Stoppers: (L-to-R) Yellow Heart; Bubinga; Red Heart; Spalted Oak; Yellow Heart.

As you are finding out, wood turning can be addictive. You are making a great start. Wait until you start making bowls. Every chunk of firewood you see has potential as a turning.

Personally I always get a bit nervous when items that involve fire like your candle holders are smaller at the base than the top. I can just visualize them tippling over and at the least making a waxy mess or worse starting a fire. If you think you want to modify the ones you made you could always add a base piece to them.

Nice projects, they all look good.

-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.
