What is a rubbing table? A place to get a massage? Nope, it is a table ordered by local museum to teach kids how to do tombstone rubbings. Had to leave an 5×9 inch opening in the top for the granite marker, so I put a piano hinge on the top so it can be lifted to access chalk and paper storage on the inside. They also wanted it to be rustic looking so I built it out of some old pine shelving and assembled the box with box joints. Finished with couple of coats of boiled linseed oil.

Great looking table, and an educational project as well, nicely done.
