This wooden basket ball is made of 144 pieces of mahogany and sits on a base made of 72 pieces of black wood and it can be swirled for while if you push it gently by hand. The black lines are as a result of 3 hours of pyrography work. The ball is lifted of the base by 5mm by a metal bar with two hidden ballbrearings inside the ball to allow swirling around itself.
I am preparing a short video to show the swrling. You will watch it on my blog soon.

Does it bounce? LOL

Thank you.

It can, certainly, bounce, if you want to break the floor, Joe.

Sam, I have a new respect for you in turning these. They are indeed not easy. And adding to that, the segmentation. This ball looks great. Nice touch with the pyrography too.

That’s incredible, and I am sure very painstaking worth, but from where I am standing it was worth every minute. Beautiful piece.
