Okay I have been working on this as a surprise for my mom, since last Oct. 2011. But with the untimely death of my Dad, I took some time off. I finally finished the outside, now I have to put on the hinge (a piano hinge) an the latches in the front, then the outside will be officially done. For the inside I have to line it with the cedar an put a sliding drawer then I can ship it to my mom. Hope you like it! :)

Beautiful job on the chest, I’m sure your Mom will love it. Very sorry to hear of your Dads passing.

Looks great, I love giving things to my Mom, no matter how critical I am of the work, she loves it exactly how it is.

Robert, My condolences on the loss of your father. That is a very nice chest with a lot of craftsmanship evident. A wooden ‘Shipwright hinge’ would make it a one of a kind! Look at his blog as I think this chest is begging for one. Just my opinion.
