I was just playing around on the lathe and came up with this idea. It is made of Ash and is about 6 inches tall, 2 3/4 inches wide at the top with 1/8 inch walls. I used aniline dye for the coloring, blue on the outside and yellow on the inside and finished it with a wipe on poly. I an interested in getting your opinion, so please chime in. Thanks for looking.

I think that’s pretty sweet. That blue is one of my favorite colors and it just seems to work!
One day, I will get a lathe!
Thanks for sharing.
Well done.

Realy nice new idea and best choice of coulors, I love it. At first, I thought it was double layered.

I like it. Holes before or after turning?

Rance, the holes were drilled prior to turning.

Hi I normally dont like a foot on a hollow form thats just me but for some reason it works darn well on your well executed hollow form well done. Tip for next piece out of ash try liming wax after staining. Keep at it the vortex only gets better the more you turn. Regards Tamboti

Nice design. The yellow inside and the hole that shows it off it great as well.
