Third is a series of Art/Palm Boxes a la Andy.
Carved with 4 1/2 grinder and Dremel tool. Lots of hand sanding.
handle from reclaimed knife handle of Rosewood.
Side is of Poplar, front and rear Hickory?
Top of laminations of walnut, maple, mahogany and rosewood.
Pins not installed yet so you see Andy’s trick of using roofing nails until finished.
Thanks to all the box carvers who have inspired me..
Bruce

That is a good looking box. One problem you might have with all the top pieces laminated with the grain orientation in that direction is expansion. Wood expands across the grain and might cause it to bind down the road.

i think the box is really cool, but the nails really dont do it for me, your really nice box here deserves some better hinge pins…just my 2 cents…
