This is my version of Thos. Moser’s lap desk in his book ” How To Build Shaker Furniture” I modified the plan making mine smaller. This was my first time using dovetails in a project, as you can see I need practice ie the filler, gaps and the oversized pin. Finished with minwax golden pecan stain and polycrylic. Jerry

Nice start Jerry. I made several of these for Xmas one year. They really go over well for gifts. What is the wood that you are using?

Thank you all for the compliments. Hi Roger i used 1/2 inch clear pine from Lowes. Irob I think cherry will work very nice. All boards are 1/2 thick. Top 2 pieces are 4 3/8×16 1/4, 12 1/2×16 1/4, back 4 1/2h x 16L, sides 4 1/2h x 16 1/2. I used a piece of 1/2 ply for the bottom. If you want i could send you the plans from the book.
