there are two of these boxes i made, one is from salvaged oak and the other is southern heart pine, these are made for two missionaries that go to my church who worked so hard on putting vinyl siding on my home, with the help of around a total of eight more men, they put vinyl on three of my outside walls, the front of my home is in pine, the rest i wanted done this way so there is no maintenance, but these boxes are made with oak, southern heart pine, walnut, and red cedar, the handles on both boxes are spalted pecan, i finished the boxes with BLO and on the top of each box i buffed tung oil on with a steel wool pad, i put it under my orbital sander and buffed it really well , wiped them clean and let them dry, it gave a very nice natural finish and they are very smooth, there is also the letter M on the top of each box , as there last names both start with a M, they are done in blood wood. thanks so much for looking at my project, its been about 5 weeks since i did any shop work, to much house repair and finish took my time and energy, grizzman

Nice Grizz.. Isn’t the grain on the shot of the side with full wood of the box pretty. I love wood. Working with wood develops character while bringing out the character of the wood.

Wow, Grizzman…these are just beautiful!
You have become the king of boxes. You may not have had too much time in the shop, but you certainly have made good use of the time you had!
Such a nice gesture to give them away.
