With warm weather now upon us, a garden bench project is a nice project.

I built two of these benches a few years ago for my sister’s flower garden.

Yes, it is a nice looking design.

The benches have stayed outdoors for 4 to 6 winters now, and I live in Central Illinois. They have withstood the test of time. The end flower boxes rot out after 4 or 5 years, but it is easy to build new ones to replace them. I suppose that if I had used pressure treated wood versus common pine, they would last longer.
