OK, it’s not that this is a major piece of art. It is however my sons first solo project. Pine bench with Oak posts. He has been gaining interest in this more all the time.

Keep him going! It so hard to get kids interested in non-technology pursuits and, as you know woodworking is very rewarding …. otherwise this site would not exist.
Have you ever been to the lodges in Glacier national park? The furniture there is of similar style, natural and minimally processed. This is the type of furniture my daughter loves. If he could she would have, whole house full.
