Between my freshmen and sophomore college years, I decided to try my luck at cabinetry. I spent hours making test test cuts for fluted panels, arcs, blocking, edge bands, and mitered drawer panels before cutting into the walnut final product. I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s now about 2 years old and functions perfectly. It was part of a larger room renovation, and the dropped soffit covers up an angled portion of the ceiling that worked perfectly aesthetically in terms of setting the unit apart from the rest of the room and housing recessed lighting. The table tops have inlaid green onyx to match the walnut.
