Alright so it was for my mom, but still a cool feeling to have her ask me to build something for her. not perfect but i did learn a lot, like when you join the sides to the front with solid wood you should leave a bit of a reveal because the wood is going to move lol. all in all i was satisfied with the build, not a big fan of the finish but that’s what she wanted, very “country”. The sides are poplar and the top is just home depot pine. they drove from Michigan to south Texas to get it, so we will see what kind of wood movement we get when they get it home…hopefully it doesn’t crack on them.

That looks great and is kind of on the order of what I want to do in a Hoosier cabinet style.

Do you have any plans or drawings you could share?

no plans, she showed me a website of one she was thinking about buying for over $2000 and asked if i could do it any cheaper, so i just looked at the picture and made it that way, it’s almost identical, and the final bill was just over $300

I like it and the finish. That is a popular finish right now.

Looks Great! I can relate to the “first project for a customer”. Feels GREAT, even though my first customer was a cousin.

Great job. You might pick up more work when you moms friends see it.
