Cherry-Koa Recipe Box This is my second linked-ring wedding gift recipe box. A client saw the first one and decided she wanted to give one as a gift. The box is sized to hold 4×6 recipe cards and is constructed of cherry with koa accents. The cards are kept upright by the piano wire dividers inside. This is my first time to use the hidden barrel hinges and they work quite nicely, but require precise placement of the holes….no wiggle room. The box is finished with hand-rubbed poly.

My, my, you have a knack for pleasing shapes. The chamfer on the lid and the lipping around the opening are nice details. And another of your lovely lid appliqu├ęs. While I’m usually not big on barrel hinges, they work well here. Also like the little wire dividers; a very practical solution for the glut of stuff that usually ends up in a recipe box. Nicely done.

Nice box, very well done, never used barrel hinges so thanks for the heads up though they do look very good.

Speaking from experience (not much) you did a nice looking job on the hinges, I think I need a lesson

I’ve been wanting to use barrel hinges myself and your recipe box shows how great they work when done so well. Nice work!
