The wood comes of a pallet i found which is spalted beech. the inside is sapele.first time I tried quadrant hinges. not keen on them as I prefer the rustic look. also first time I made pens and letter opener which are spalted beech as well. sold the lathe soon after wards. as i did not enjoy it as much as i thought. not my forte.

That’s some nice pallet wood! And you did a great job on the box and matching ‘implements’. Those hinges look very nice but also look very $$$ and difficult to get right. You did a great job all around.

Got lucky on that find! I love it when I find cool lumber on a pallet! That is an amazing looking wood, and you crafted it with skill. Well done, nice job! :)
