Potpourri Box made from a leftover scrap of claro walnut from a gunstock blank.
Made for my MIL for her birthday.
Lid is cast pewter from Craft Supplies USA.
It is around 41/2” in diameter.
Finished with Behlen’s woodturner’s finish.
After it was nearly complete I turned it over and attached it to a faceplate with rubber fingers to hold it.
Just as I finished the bottom it came loose and launched across the room cracking it and damaging the finish.
I was able to pry it open enough to put some CA in the crack and remounted it on the lathe and refinished it.
The crack is nearly hidden.

Very nice Save! I think if someone didn’t know it, it wouldn’t even be noticed. I love Claro Walnut. This makes a lovely potpourri dish.
