The idea for this scroll saw box came from an article in one of the woodworking magazines 10 or 15 years ago that I did not have time to do back then. This one was done out of a piece of 8/4 poplar. Finish is a natural spray on poly with flocking on the interior. Was a fun project.

Nice work, one question – how is the lid secured to the base?

As you can see it is a lift off lid but I did’t get a picture of the underside of the lid. I used inserts that are glued to the bottom side of the lid that fit the cut outs. They hold the lid in place. Glad you asked because that was one of the trickier parts of the project to fit. After cutting the inserts to fit I had to use double stick tape and experiment to get them in the right places, then mark and glue them. If I were doing it over I would do the inserts before I glued the bottom back on.
