Way too much work involved though.
But, it will make an interesting conversation piece.
Tomorrow I am going to go buy a few cigars to use the labels(bands).
That should put the final touch on it.

Great Pen!!
If there is a smoke shop or pipe/cigar shop nearby, they might have some labels there for nothing- unless of course you enjoy a good cigar.

Bill, I just did some checking and even buying single cigars online is not cheap. Now I’m again glad I gave up smoking 15 years ago! I think I’ll visit the local shop.
The ash end(don’t say that out loud) is the result of several trial and error attempts and is basically dark stain and whiteout along with some carving with various tools.
That portion is also necessary so as to make the overall length longer than the blank to accommodate the pen refill size.
