That is amazing! Now my dog would be laying on the roof. What wood did you use on the walls? I like the subtle color contrast.

Wonderful design and build. Very unique.

A few years ago now, we had a golden retriever and I built him a kennel. He seemed to know what I was doing, because as soon as I put base on the ground, he laid down on it and I ended up building the thing around him. :)

He like it so much that he refused to sleep in the house after that and would wait by the door each night for me to let him out to his kennel so he could go to sleep.

Thanks for all the comments!

Josh, awesome comment!

JeffC, I made a plywood box, then I glued and screwed 1 inch dimensional pine lumber to it, to create the gaps.

Brit, great story about your dog!

The hardest part about this project was the roof with all the angles. Makes you appreciate what house roofers can do.

FLW would be smiling! He designed every piece. Probably would have asked you to do the kennels! LOL! Nice work.

Nice! They look like they are relaxed! My son decided to build a log doghouse- took three days to build it!

A true piece of art. I love the subtle changes in the color and widths that leads to a better flow of the arch. Thanks for taking such good care of your best friends.

Thanks Francois, it turned out well, and I appreciate your comments. The dogs are happy with it, even though they stay in my house most of the time :)
