This was one of those fun-filled projects that I enjoyed from start to finish. I have a pet-peeve for trashcans out in the open and I wanted something that would be concealed. We also wanted something that would hide our recyclables can, which if you have one of these you know can get gross and constantly full. So I surfed the net for ideas and came up with just a basic design that I drew up one night. The only feature I wanted to add to this side-by-side was a drawer that would hold a box of trash bags and our container that holds plastic shopping bags. Anyway, this was the end result. It came out very nice and the family loves it. And of course all of the wife’s friends that come over now want one for their kitchen. :)

Very nice looking. Either the wife’s friends want what you made her, or she wants what you make for everyone else. Just the way it goes. Welcome to LJ’s.

Some things just seem too nice to put a trash can in!
