When my sister found out I had purchased a table saw, she immediately requested that I make her “a bigger box for my zen garden”. So this is what I came up with. It is made of 1/2” oak and a piece of plywood for the bottom (which explains the funky grain orientation on the bottom – it was the only scrap I had). Everything is joined by rabbits and glue. The stain is Early American and I wiped on a couple coats of satin poly. Overall I’m very pleased with how this turned out.

Simplicity at its best. Nice job.
