This is my new mortiser stand. It’s pretty basic, just a standard cabinet with some reinforcement built in to support the weight of the mortiser. I made the cabinet so the machine table height is the same as my assembly table height. It has double locking casters on the bottom which makes it very solid when locked down. I also made a bit holder for the chisels, and the drawers have variable spaced half blind dovetails. I have not tilted the head on this mortiser yet, but I think it will still be stable even if I do. My base is wider than the one General sells for this mortiser so I don’t think I’ll have any issues. I don’t know what I’m going to put in the lower drawer, but I’m sure I’ll find something.
