Hello fellows ,

There are some nice small woodwork’s.
Guitar stand – my own design, made from oak. Unfortunately, I do not like this stand very much :)
Clothing rack – client gave me a picture, made from oak.
Cofee table – my own design, just smaller brother of http://lumberjocks.com/projects/42132 , made from ash.

Love the guitar stand and clothes rack. Very unique and definitely a joinery challenge.

I like the guitar stand, from my point of view it seems to flow quite well. Actually of all three I like the guitar stand best. There all well done though. Just my two cents.

I’m with you…I don’t like the guitar stand, either….I’ve built a few in my time, since I’m a guitar player….What I don’t like about it is that it hangs from the peghead, and that puts too much pressure on the neck….The stand needs a “rest” for the body to sit on to take the pressure off….it might eventually pull the neck from the body….even if it’s set in a dovetail, over a period of time it could happen….Sorry, but I just don’t like the design…..

Hi Rick. There is nothing to be sorry for. As I have already said I don’t like it either. I appreciate your honesty. Although I ` m flattered that some of you do like it as the client did :)

I like the guitar stand although I think it would look better without the dog leg at the neck end.

I can’t bring myself to hang my guitars by the head but everything looks good.

Truthfully, this is a silly notion. Guitar Center has thousands of guitars hanging by the neck. Actually, they are hanging from the tuners, which are attached to the neck. There is no possible way that the 7 pound(heavy) guitar could pull the neck joint apart. These joints remember counteract 140 lbs of tension on a regular basis.

I disagree with those who dislike the design of this piece. I think it is interesting and little different from other more common hanging guitar design. I particularly like the way the piece that holds to neck bends back to support the body, very clever. It also has a little more of an organic look opposed to other more modern looking designs.

I like the look of the guitar stand too, nice curves there.
The only negative thing I can see is that it looks a bit unstable, sems that it can easily tip over…

Also, hanging a guitar from the peghead is no problem at all. The pull of the strings is much stronger than than the weight of the guitar.
Actually it would be no problem if there were no strings too….
