My friend is getting married in Cuba and I know that he will be bringing back some cigars. I also know that he doesn’t own a humidor so I thought I would try my hand at making him a functional wedding gift. As a novice wood worker this is my first real attempt at building a box let alone a humidor. I haven’t seasoned the wood yet and I may add a tray depending on what he would like once he gets back and receives his present. We will see if the humidity will remain once he puts it to use, otherwise it may turn into a wedding box that can hold pens or sand, or whatever. Either way I had fun building it and I learned a ton as I did. The woods are cherry for the body, cherry, maple and walnut for the top, walnut for the splines and handle and spanish cedar for the interior. It is finished with a gel finish from Lee Valley. Thanks for looking and comments and critiques are welcome….. Thanks

Pretty sharp looking humidor for your first one. I am working on a humidor/coffee table myself, I hope it’s as nice as yours.
