I turned the bowl from a couple of glued up blanks that I got from a turner’s auction. The two multi-colored sections are dyed plywood and were already glued when I got them. The top rim is walnut, the center rim is purpleheart, and the bottom is padouk. The lamps I turned about 20 years ago out of a birch log and a cherry log. I left some bark on them and they have a rustic look.

Those are interesting lamps. That has given me some ideas. You just put something else on my gotta do list.
