Chest / Trunk (what’s the difference???)
Wood: Ovangkol (slab with natural edge and sapwood)
Finish: teak oil
Searching for ideas on the Internet I stumbled upon this chest. I liked it so much that I placed it at the top of my To-Do List; that was about nine days ago.
It is made entirely with Ovangkol. I used sapwood in the insets to provide contrast. The lid support pivots around a brass rod. I made a sliding/removable tray for remotes, etc if it gets used as a coffee table.
I joined Lumberjocks one year ago. I think this piece is a good way to celebrate my first anniversary.

I think the difference is the person using it. Nice looking piece.
