Avocado firewood.
Just a very simple little bowl, 4” across but I love this wood. Turns really easy. Smells great when worked and the grain pattern is wonderful. Even got some nice spalting in some of it. All for five bucks for about 8 nice size pieces.
Only draw back, I don’t think it’s a real strong wood.
None the less, it’s fun and that’s all that matters.

Yes, Olive wood is great to carve, as is any fruitwood.

We just finished a chicken fajita dinner with two kinds of quacamole and the post title caught my eye. That is a beautiful little bowl and perfect size for one serving.

Alright, been looking for avocado trees in MN and can not find any. Anyone have a suggestion for ordering it. I tried searching on the web and did not find any. I have wanted to make my sister a bowl as she makes awesome guacamole. Let me know if you have any sources.
