My first attempt at a game call! There are a lot of “firsts” for me in this call as I’m still very new to woodturning:
- I wanted to learn how to make those angled surfaces with a skew…Check!
- I also read about the technique to make a nice smooth cove…Check!
- All of this while I used for the first time a pen mandrel…Check!
- I also made myself 2 wooden mandrels for sanding the insides of my calls (1/2” and 3/4” diameter)
Top part is cherry and the bottom is walnut, simply finished with watco danish oil.
Edit: Saw a couple of good ideas for taking pics, so I took a couple of extra pics to revitalize my project!
