It’s like a picture frame, but for jewelry. A screen mesh in the middle holds earrings and things of that sort; the nails on the bottom are for necklaces etc.
This project was somewhat of a hack job; my first attempt at a four-cornered frame like this, and my first run at staining wood. All things considered, I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.
Mar 5 Update: I’ve made a second one, this time out of walnut.

Your miters look ok. That seems like a functional design. Had you thought of wooden pegs instead of nails? I did a necklace ‘board’ out of Aromatic Cedar and made cedar pegs. My wife likes it.
