Another Cigar Box guitar. The parents of my good friend moved into town from the country. When they sold their farm I picked up some cigar boxes which had this one in it. When I opened it it had this label on the inside. I reversed the lid to allow the label to show. I researched the box date and label. The box was made between 1915 and 1920. The label is from H.D. Lee mercantile. Henry Lee was the founder of Lee jeans in Salina, Kansas. He moved his company to Kansas City. I live about 75 miles from Kansas City. The neck is made from their flooring of their house before it was burned down. It is long leaf yellow pine. I airbrushed it black then distressed it. I dyed the fret board green then also distressed it. I used true oil as a finish and lacquer. The hinge pin bridge is from their old house also. I made it for their grandson and left it fretless since he is learning also and could use it as a slide guitar.
