Our penturning friends may be the only ones to appreaciate this: After five years and hundreds of pens, my pen press broke. So, I salvaged a few parts from old press. Added $4 slide clamp from Harbor Freight. Cheater bar is 1/2 copper pipe left over from old project. Turned handle out of mystery wood from a pallet that came from South America. Plywood base out of my scrap bin.

Beats spending $50 for new pen press.

Thanks for looking.

That is awesome!! I had to fix hubby’s pen press after I broke it…used it to push in parts for toys I was making. Paid $10 bucks for a NOS clamp. Yours rocks!! :)

you did a killer job my uncle came over today and he gave me his awesome pen press it has trays built arround the press board and on the other side he made rows of up side down golf teas they ar for holding the turned barrels. the other side are square trays that you put the parts of the kit sorted out it works great then he gave me a shitload of blanks and kits as well as some finishing wax and a very high quality drill grids I had a 7 mm mandrel but I need a 10mm mandrel I think this is going to be allot of fun
