That’s a great looking tortilla press! My daughter LOVES making tortillas with her her Welita (grandma) when she comes to visit. My Mom uses a rolling pin, but I think the press would be easier to use for my daughter.

Thanks for the kind words.

I finished it with a salad bowl finish but was disappointed that it yellowed the maple a bit. I also made a cutting board in the same fashion and used mineral spirits without a yellowing effect. Perhaps my salad bowl finishing oil has exceeded its shelf life. I can’t even remember when I bought it.

Clever top lifting aid you did with a Forstner bit. I think I’ll retrofit the press I made but may use a bull nose router bit.
