laundry room cabinets the start laundry room cabinets the start No-picture-s Click the pictures to enlarge them

these are some picts of the elm that i am using for the laundry room cabinets.

the first pict is of the show side of cabinet #1 which will be 6’ by 30X15, all of the box parts are going to be made from 3/4 plywood pocket hole screwed and glued.

i thought therer would be a problem with the elm wanting to bow but it planned straight and true. it has remarkable color changes from a light yellow to a dark tan with some spalting

thanks

That’s some nice looking wood! I have never seen elm before.

Elm is great, but treat it delicately. It is hard and splits easily. Should look great when its done. It has great figure

I have never worked elm—but I have burned quite a bit. It looks pretty neat.

Jay,

That is gorgeous wood. The only experience that I have had with elm is when I converted some trees at my parents home into (GASP) firewood. The trees had died many years before and I was much younger (and somewhat less intelligent than I am now).

I am beginning to see what I missed out on.

Thanks for the post.
