Had an old Craftsman Awl with a beat up handle. Relieved if of the handle, annealed the shaft, straightened it, reshaped it then re-tempered and polished it. Handle is figured/spalted maple with a buffed CA finish. Ferrell shaped from an old plumbing fitting.

Nice work, it’s a good feeling when one refurbishes old tools.

Well done. I have made a few of these and use one in my shop. I like your spalted handle and the shape looks comfortable.

Nicely done, that spalted maple was a good choice.
