Great job Drew. Beautiful ceramics with an equaly beautiful place to display them. What type of wood did you use? Love the figure on the slant top. Thanks for posting. Jerry

Looks like something you would find in a fine furniture gallery, really well done!
I agree with Lee, more pictures would rock!

Awesome project. Definitely more photos if you have them. Where did you get the plans for this desk?

Nice piece

too bad about the hoarding on the “display” dept., : ))

there is a reason for drawers eh …….they “hide” shit. More stuff, need more drawers, more drawers = more stuff.

I love drawers : ) ……..thats nice workmanship. Love to a be critic and hack it up but I wont cuz I think your “Mom” is happy. I also know that if your nice to Mom, all that you invest in them, your time, your money, is always safe (pending mother)……some day, you get it back…………..spend the same on a bride and it could well be gone and more : )…………Moms are much safer bets : )

I’ll take some more pics this weekend. It’s all striped Honduran mahogany (back is African) with shellac and no stain. There were no plans or drawings as I built it from a picture I had in my mind. (I tend to do that a lot) Yes, I turned the finial. Unfortunatly, I did “get it back” as Mom died 4 years ago but I still have much of her work right here in my living room. The doors were originally going to be the the same crotch mahogany as the lid but Mom wanted glass so she could display her work. (that’s why the door frames are so wide) As usual, She was right, It looks better with glass doors.
