I thought it might be time to take extra care & finesse on this project to make it my best turning to date. Well all started out ok with the feature ring. Then I didn’t get the rings lined up in a 50 present stagger like they should have been, but I left it alone. Then during the final stage, just before I put on the last top ring of Ebony the tool caught and the bowl come off the lathe onto the floor and put a big gouge in the top. after remounting the bowl, it come off a second time, and a third time. But in the end I won out over the bowl. Curly Maple-Ebony-Rosewood-Yellowheart-Walnut, The bottom carries the same design as the feature ring.

What a Gorgeous HF, I am glad that you didn’t give up and that you weren’t hurt in all the flying objects off the lathe.
Thanks for sharing
