Here is a jewelry box that I recently completed. It will be a b’day present for my daughter, her b’day is a ways off yet so don’t let the cat out of the bag. It is made of birdseye maple and rosewood burl. The plan is in issue 209 of Wood Magazine. It was a fun project, but if I were going to build another one I would make it a little larger.

It is nice and unique, but where is the drawer handle?

Very unusual… the drawer looks like it goes both ways… so you PUSH it open from either end…Nice

Unusual design and nice work. Really like the contrasting woods. This should be most pleasing to your daughter.

What a great design. I love the way it looks and seems to be floating! Great work and some beautiful wood.
