March, 2012—I like how this turned out. I believe this may be Bubinga. It is a hard wood that works nicely on the saw and sands very smooth. The drawer fronts are hickory and the knobs are the same as the carcass. Tung oil finish.
The design is just something that popped into my head. I was just trying to make it look a little different. Some friends who dropped by the shop said it looked like a car. I thought that was kind of humorous. Anyway, this was fun to build.

Looks more like a baby bird to me- kinda cute- I like it. Handles make big eye on top and lower handle is a small wing.

Nice looking box Art, I can’t wait to get back on box making, might be a few more weeks. I’m doing a large kitchen job right now but it’s a big money job.
