More storage space is always welcome in my shop/garage. Scrap solid cherry made this one good looking tool rack. All dado and rabbet joinery for speed of build. 1/4” red birch plywood back almost matches the cherry exactly. The upper tool rack is a tongue and groove piece with relief cut out at 6” intervals to let the tools hang through. Finished with 2 coats of BLO. I was completely surprised at how the oil made the cherry pop (no pun intended). Raw cherry looks kind of drab, but add some finish and BAM! Two more drawers are supposed to be in the upper two cavities but I am thinking of just leaving them open. I had wanted it to hang on the wall but am still trying to figure out how to hang it without drilling two screwes right through the plywood back; I dont want to break up the wood with a nasty deck screw into the wall studs. Thanks for looking.

Nice looking tool rack. As for hanging it up, you could try using a couple of french cleats, one fastened to the back of the rack and another to the wall. Both cleats have a mating angle that interlocks and can hold alot of weight. Thanks for sharing.
