Ankh is the ancient Egyptian symbol for life, but also their word for mirror.

I made this for my wife. She has a collection of antique mirrors.

It’s canary wood. It’s not one of my favorites for working, but I think it has a nice look.

I started resawing this on the tablesaw, and finished it on the bandsaw.

9 and 1/2” x 5 and 1/2” x 3/4” Lacquer finish.

Canary wood is hard but any thing made out of it is very good looking. Very nice job on the cross.

Beautiful Ankh, nice idea to represent the symbol for life and a useful mirror. Nice idea.

Looks good! Did you recess the top piece to allow for the mirror and then sandwich and glue it all back together? What is your finish?

Randy, I recessed the bottom piece to hold the mirror. That last pic isn’t real good, but it shows the recess. Lacquer finish.
