I was looking for a good idea for my brothers 39th birthday and since he said this was the last one he was planning on celebrating (apparently scared of the 40’s) I figured it had better be a good present. He has everything that we wants so I figured I should give him something that he needs.
Using photos of my brother’s truck, rough measurements from my father, and some online documentation from Peterbilt I made this interpretation of a Peterbilt 379 in 1:16th scale. I took some liberties with a few of the dimensions considering the tools I have available and the desire to use as much material as possible from the home improvement store. Everything is pine except for the 1/2 dowel and no metal was used.
This project would not have been possible without a new band saw my father gave to me as an early birthday present. 6 months early. Thanks dad
