I made this jewelry chest for my daughter as a Christmas gift. The plans for this jewelry chest was featured in Woodsmith magazine Vol.33 / No. 197. The chest is made from oak. The top and base are painted oak. I hate painting any wood but I was pleased with the results. i used several coats of lacquer as a finish. All the drawers are lined. I deviated from their plans on the doors. They used bendable plywood and I glued up tapered oak strips. I had to make a curved jig to hold the glue-up. oh, I made the scratching post too but that is for our five cats :).
